January -- Surprise! A stay-at-home month celebrating Pam's birthday. Bruce showed his beautiful video and presented our trip to Bhutan at our library's travel series. Pam rode her bicycle and worked out at the gym.

February -- A four day bike trip (plus wine tasting) with girlfriends in and around Solvang (California's Central Coast) was this month's highlight for Pam. Bruce and daughter Nikki met in Las Vegas to eat some good food and do a little shopping.

March -- Behind Pam is the view from the world's tallest building, the Burj Kalifa, 124 stories high, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In Oman we slept at a bedouin desert camp, one of many highlights during our two week trip to that fascinating Persian Gulf county.

A first time solo visit from our grandkids, Catie (10) & Connor (12). We visited San Francisco and Alcatraz, attended a March Madness Stanford Women's basketball game & watched the National Synchronized Swimming Championships, visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the kids sampled some new foods!

April -- Lots of biking for Pam. Lots of tax returns for Bruce.

May - Relatives from New York, Florida, Pennsylvania,
Massachusetts, California, and France descended on Washington for a Berger family reunion hosted by Bruce's daughter Laurie; Afterwards we did a10-day driving trip along the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway into Virginia and North Carolina. The artsy city of Asheville and the Biltmore Estate were our favorites.

June -- Celebrated Bruce's birthday at a top San Francisco restaurant and flew to Mexico to spend another great week at Club Med Cancun with our kids, grandkids, and their friends.

July -- Our 13th year in the Sierras (Graeagle) with the regular group of ten friends to golf, bike, nosh, and drink. Bruce finally won the wine tasting contest!

August -- Celebrated Jim Perkins' (Pam's brother) 80th birthday with family & friends in Connecticut, followed by a week in New York City, sightseeing, eating at wonderful restaurants and walking our asses (oops, I mean calories) off.

September -- Enjoying fall at home and packing for our trip next month.

November -- Bruce celebrates Thanksgiving with Amy and the Cryan Family (Laurie, Tom, Catie (11) and Connor (13)) in D.C. Knowing that another long flight is just weeks away, Pam thinks twice about getting on another plane and spends Thanksgiving with friends in California. We showed Bruce's amazing video and presented our Oman trip at the library's travel series.

December -- Hooray! Amy receives her Master's degree from London School of Economics! Working on a packing list for our trip to Myanmar (Burma). Yes, another loooong flight in coach. Leaving December 29th to spend New Year's Eve in Bangkok. Flying to Burma on January 2nd for two weeks of touring another beautiful country and to celebrate Pam's milestone birthday.
Merry Christmas from our Tonkinese cats, Indie & Sophie. They are the only cats we know who love their carrying case.
